Explain where the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) is heading in terms of Direct Response, including grid flexibility services to reduce demand. Describe the NJBPU’s grid modernization effort to evolve the grid to incorporate more renewables and storage and encourage microgrids. Explore the different proposed Demand Response programs suggested by the utilities including direct load control, Pay for Performance, virtual power plant, fixed build demonstration, behavioral Demand Response time, flexible load management, and commercial system relief. Compare the Engineered Solutions Tier 1 and 2, Building Operations, Retro-commissioning, Monitor-based Commissioning, Virtual Commissioning, and the Strategic Energy Management energy solutions programs related to Demand Response offered by the utilities as part of their commercial and industrial offerings.
